We sadly announce the passing of Bruce Colgrove, WØDMS. Bruce was a very active community service member, committing countless hours to public service, maintaining the 146.850 (and several other) repeaters.
Bruce was born to Edward and Arleen (Smith) Colgrove on Feb. 25, 1959 in Beatrice. In Lincoln, at Northeast High School is where he met his sweetheart then wife, Kim (KØKIM). Bruce and Kim were married on September 12th, 1981.
Bruce worked at the local television cable company for 35 years. When not working he could be found digging into any of several hobbies. Most prominently, Bruce loved his family, cars, anything electronic, camping, boating and fishing. On weekends, Bruce and Kim could regularly be found at a racetrack, on or near the lake or at some super secret fishing hole.
Bruce passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at age 56. He is survived by his wife Kim, their sons Tom KØAOL and Shawn, grandchildren; Kian, Layla, Abbie, Tyler, sister; Marla (Jerry) Hardnock.
Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R St., Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
